taken a spin down the sunblock aisle lately, you know there are a lot
of options. Spray sunblock or lotion? SPF 30 or 45? The options are
endless. Here are a few tips from skin care experts to add the right
sunblock to your beauty routine.
SPF 30 or higher. SPF
stands for sun protection factor, which is a measure of how well the
sunscreen deflects UVB rays. Some experts say the higher the SPF the
better, but there is much debate about this topic. As long as the
sunblock is SPF 30 or above and is applied often, it will work
Broad-spectrum coverage. A
good sunscreen will offer broad-spectrum coverage, which means it
will protect against both UVB and UV rays. They are both harmful to
the skin, so having broad-spectrum coverage is a must.
Spray or lotion? This is
all about personal preference. It doesnít matter how sunblock is
applied, just that it is applied. If spray sunblock is easier, go
for it. Be careful though, applying spray sunblock outdoors where
the wind can blow the mist around could mean a blotchy burn.
