Winner, 'Nurturing myself means...' contest, plus more!

Thank you all for submitting your comments to our 'Nurturing myself means...' contest! They were all awesome!

The winner, Erin King with the following:

Nurturing myself means some quiet time outside taking in the sights, sounds and smells of nature. This is always my foolproof way to bring myself back to a grounded place so I can tackle the craziness of the world. Both sunshine and moonlight can do wonders for the mind and soul, and the sounds of birds or crickets beat any CD that you can buy.

Other comments we liked:

Nurturing myself means being with my close friends and family, taking time to do all the things I enjoy (cooking, working out, massages, wine, bubble baths) and keeping an attitude of gratitude.

Nurturing myself means not feeling guilty about taking a nap when my son does, even if nothing else gets done around the house. I feel so rejuvenated when I get an extra few minutes of shut eye!

Nurturing myself means loving myself, and making time to give myself what I really need...La Dolce Vita! Making time for the important stuff and leaving the small stuff behind. Allowing love, joy, friendship, and the occasional chocolate to be at the forefront!

Nurturing myself does not mean to slow down or relax, but rather the opposite... nurturing myself is breaking free of my daily routine and doing something daring, something exciting, that will make my heart pound and blood rush through my body (like spontaneously taking 1/2 a day off from work to go skydiving! - true story!) to make me truly feel alive, provide me with lasting memories, and live this one life that I have been blessed with to the fullest.

Nurturing myself means beginning each day in quiet solitude, focusing on what's true and good about the world. And remembering to take that peace with me throughout the day.
