Winner, When I was a bridesmaid... contest and more stories!
Thank you all for participating in our When I was a bridesmaid... contest! Your stories were wonderful and captured all of the emotions we've come to associate with the hallowed role of bridesmaid! Enjoy!
Winning post:
When I was a bridesmaid, I had to walk down the aisle with the guy who had eye surgery just before the wedding. He wore an eye patch with a
skull and red diamonds, using pirate slang and calling me "his prized
booty" all the way to the altar.
Other favorites:
When I was a bridesmaid, I was 7 months pregnant...twice...2 years in a row... and BOTH of the brides made me wear huge yellow dresses!!!! "We
all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine..." :)
We all (all the bridesmaids) flashed the priest when we knelt down on the kneeler. We had all lost so much weight that our dresses were very
loose. The top of the dress was lace and when we knelt down on the
kneeler all 12 boobs popped out of the top of the dresses. The priest
turned bright red but no one knew what was going on but us and the
priest!
When I was a bridesmaid, I have 5 sisters that are married so I have plenty of experience. It's a blast! We have so much fun and no ugly
dresses for these girls. We always have a girls weekend before the
wedding. Usually includes a weekend in Atlanta. We go shopping, have a
"couple" of glasses of wine(lol), and always a spa day. It's a great way
to enjoy each other and celebrate. It's relaxing and who could be
stressed when there are good wine and spa treatments involved?
One of the times I was a bridesmaid, the dress we all wore had spaghetti straps. At the reception, every bridesmaid's spaghetti straps, except
mine, broke! Apparently all the other bridesmaids were much more
"endowed" than I was!
I was the maid of honor and at 7 months pregnant, was laying on the floor giving pedicures to the other bridesmaids while they did the
centerpieces! Thank God I love the bride, my sister, more than words can
say ♥ What a beautiful wedding♥
When I was a bridesmaid....I went to the ladies room and did my
business....thought I had myself put all back together and strutted all
the way across the hall in front of 300 guests with the entire back of
my dress tucked into my stockings!!!!! My whole butt was hanging out for
all to see and no one told me until I returned to the wedding party
table. At that moment I took full advantage of the open bar!!!!!
Thanks for sharing, everyone!
